We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Wind Tunnel Engineer within our Aero & Performance group. This is a dynamic role working with multiple cross function groups to achieve enterprise goals. We are offering a highly challenging and rewarding opportunity to a person with expertise in this space.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support various wind tunnel tests, including planning and executing the tests, reducing and analyzing the data after the test and documenting the results.
Oversee subcontractor activities for wind tunnel model fabrication and wind tunnel test facility coordination
Support flight tests, reduce and analyze the data after the tests and document the results
Develop analysis tools, perform mathematical modeling, and provide aerodynamic design support for new aircraft and modifications to existing aircraft (both fixed wing and/or rotorcraft).
Aerodynamic database development, aircraft performance analysis, mathematical modeling, simulation development and support, flight data analysis, and documentation.
Person will use strong analytical and communication skills (written & oral) and the ability to work closely with different test and design groups, including the CFD, Simulation, Software, and Flight Controls Groups.

Extensive Wind Tunnel experience required.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, seven or more years of experience with a Master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD
Must demonstrate an extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
Candidate must be competent with Matlab, MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and have excellent technical writing skills.
Familiarity with MS Project, C++, and Simulink.
Prior experience with aircraft wind tunnel and flight testing and knowledge of flight dynamics, wind tunnel and flight data analysis and interpretation, and development of data analysis tools would be very useful.
Able to work extended hours as required.
A Professional Engineering License is desirable.
