We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD design drafter to work within our Facilities Department, located in Poway, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares conceptual and schematic drawings for presentation and approval.
Prepares new or revised drawings showing dimensions, in accordance with established procedures, practices, and standards.
Prepares as-built drawings from provided red-lines or through field verification and measurement.
Verifies own completed work by checking dimensions, field verifying, cross checking Occupancy database, and ensuring that the plans are reflected accurately in all documentation.
Incorporates changes to existing drawings including redrawing as appropriate and making rearrangements of views according to instructions.
Prepares layouts and options following all code compliance requirements for exiting, ADA, etc.
Uses standard CAD digitizing techniques and skills required to perform the required tasks. These may include but are not limited to creating and modifying drawings in AutoCAD, and creating and changing text, dimensions, or parts lists.
Maintains records, files, drawings and parts lists, specifications, standards, and other data essential to the completion of space planning layouts as required.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires a high school diploma or a certificate from a recognized organization certifying completion of a training program utilizing technical engineering software applications and three or more years of work experience. May substitute additional education in lieu of work experience.
Must have experience in advanced drafting techniques and be skilled using AutoCAD and knowledgeable of Sketchup & Revit.
Must be familiar with industry practice and standards.
Requires proficiency in use of math including algebra, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry as might be acquired through high school and/or trade school studies.
Must have good oral and written communication skills to communicate ideas and for presenting results along with a good knowledge of computer operations and software relevant to drafting and design tasks.
Knowledge of computer operations and CAFM/IWMS software relevant to drafting and design tasks, highly desirable.
The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
